Setting Up an Independent Learning Centre as a course

Setting Up an Independent Learning Centre as a course

HI all,

I am a teacher of EFL at a pathway college in Melbourne Australia.  I work in the independent learning centre, helping foreign students to learn English outside class.

I have been directed to set up ILC content on moodle. My plan is to set up courses in moodle for reading, listening, speaking and writing and then make the topics into levels, i.e. Writing would be split into level1, level 2-3, level 4-5 and level 6.

Does anyone have experience of setting an online ILC in a similar way?

Does this set up sound logical?

Are there any sources of interactive moodle lessons/quizzes that are freely accessible for me to use?

This is my first post, so please be patient with me...  Hopefully, they will become a bit more focussed over time.

Thanks all.

Ashley

Hi Ashley,

I run a site for an association with a lot of interactive exercises for ESL / EFL students. As I'm a Silent Way teacher, they may not be your cup of tea but they are available free to anyone interested under a Creative Commons Licence, see Une Education Pour Demain (yes, a French site, but many of the courses are in English).

Cheers,

Glenys
