Hello all
I'm giving a speech on Moodle on Wednesday (March the 9th 2005) at Tampere Polytechnic (Finland) for faculty members interested in eLearning. Among other things I will be talking about importance of the Moodle community. I thought it might be nice demonstration of Moodle's global appeal if some of you could "drop in" and say hello in your own language. Just reply to this message with a line or two.
Jussi
PS. If you feel like doing a bit more Moodle advocacy then maybe add in what you are looking forward to in Moodle 1.5.
OK. It's simple. I'm Hung from Vietnam. I'm using Moodle to manage some courses at . This is "hello" in Vietnamese:/lms
"Xin chào"
Just noticed that it's already Wednesday the 9th of March in Moodle.org-land ... I think I'll be speaking around 1 pm GMT (3pm EET) which I guess is 9pm server-time.
Just in case if you were wondering if you already missed us ...

Go Finland! We just read about and downloaded a terrific "made in Finland" Word template for creating GIFT format quizzes.
I think you'll find that Moodle has reached critical mass and is growing exponentially. Martin's vision of a modular, scalable, easy to use environment truly enables students and teachers. I've seen technophobic teachers learn to Moodle in an hour, and I've seen technophiles pick it up the moment they click "Turn editing on". Developers admire the structure, and fall in love with it very quickly. System administrators also like it because it runs almost anywhere.
It just feels right, and if you find that you want to tweak something, the code is open source. We've got a computer science student just about ready to release some scripts for translating 2-column vocabulary lists into GIFT format... it will make a nice pair with the Finnish Word macro
Selamat Datang!

Hello Jussi! Good luck with your presentation!
As far as features we are looking forward to in 1.5 . . . one of my 8th grade students was poking around on moodle.org the other day and found the instant messaging feature--she is very excited!

Hej Jussi!
Lycka till med ditt tal i Tampere!
Även vi svenskar gillar finnar trots att ni slår oss med åtminstone 20m i långa backen i backhoppning och för att nu inte tala om senaste TIMSS-studien (http://www.timss.org/)!

Hello Jussi,
Grüße aus Deutschland. Good luck with your speech. We love Moodle at my school.

"Hola" from an Argentinian-born Moodler. Though now that I live in New Zealand I'd say "G'day mate!". Where in Finland is Tampere Poly? Some of us (Andrew McMillan, Penny Leach and me) are planning to go to Helsinki in July for Debconf 5.
I was born in Helsinki. Now I'm living in Hameenlinna which is about 100 km from Helsinki to north. Tampere is about 200 km from Helsinki to north. I volunteer to be Penny's guide during her Helsinki visit.

Dag Jussi,
Veel succes met je presentatie uit België.
Ik denk dat er aan steun uit de Moodle-gemeenschap geen gebrek zal zijn!
Hello Jussi
Good luck with your presentation from Belgium.
Guess you won't have lack of support from the Moodle community!
