Hello, I'd like to know if "Lync Online" (MS Office 365) can be embedded as web conferencing tool in to Moodle.
Any experience or advice about that?
Thanks M
This is something that would interest me as well.
me too!

Me too, even more so now since Lync and Skype are been combined to work together.
We're also waiting for the integration...will deploy it on our system as soon as it is available!
We have been looking time and again to get Lync integrated into Moodle. Unfortunately, Lync has not released the required web APIs yet, they said they're planning to so in 2013 (back in 2012).
We did develop a Moodle integration for the Lync predecessor MS Live Meeting, as well as WebEx and GoToMeeting/GoToTraining, and are anxious to do the same for Lync when this will be possible.

Hello, I realise that this post is a little old but I wondered if there were any updates on whether Lync can be integrated into Moodle as a web conferencing tool.
Hi Hannah
We're planning to have Lync integrated by the end of the year - hopefully earlier.
However, at the moment we can only work with Lync on-prem, as Lync 365 does not have the APIs released yet for the cloud version. We are keeping in touch with Microsoft and plan to add 365 once the APIs are released as well.

Hello Jacov, hello All,
are there any news about the Lync integration.
We would be interested as well in an open source solution as in a commercial connector interface.

Jürgen
HiHas there been any updates on integrating Lync with Moodle. It would be good to know where the community is at the moment with this and if it is a possibility.

Hi - We in Ireland are looking for the same thing.
It would be great to be able to launch lync meetings from within moodle and have the recordings saved back into moodle for consumption by students.

Hi any luck getting Lync integrated into Moodle???
Hi Elin
We're unfortunately still waiting for the 365 API release. I'll post on the forum as soon as I have an update.
Best regards
Jacov
Hello Jacov,
would this documentation
https://ucwa.lync.com/documentation/what-is-lync-ucwa-api
be the sign there is something newly available on the topic ?
I also seek for that ionterconnection solution, or plan to build one.....
Bonjour Valery
That is in fact the site with the required Lync APIs to complete this integration. Unfortunately, it currently states "UCWA is available only to customers who have Lync on-premises." on the site.
We already have an existing integration platform for Moodle (and other LMSs), which currently supports WebEx, GoToMeeting, Zoom and other services. Once the APIs for Lync 365 are released we could have it integrated in a short matter of time.
One more thing to take into consideration is that Microsoft is replacing 365 with Skype for Business http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/11/12/microsofts_lync_becomes_skype_for_business/, so I can't really say if Microsoft will ever release these APIs for 365 instead of waiting for the release of the new Skype version...
I'll be happy to share if I learn anything new on this.
Cordialement

Hello,
Does anybody know if there are some news about integration with Lync Online?
Has Microsoft finally released the APIs? Haven't found anything besides this thread or http://stackoverflow.com/questions/25093344/how-to-access-the-ucwa-endpoint-for-lync-online-office-365 which isn't older than half an year ...
Would be happy to get some good news about it.
Kind regards,
Andrew
Hello Andreas
With the planned release of Skype for Business - which will replace Lync - Microsoft has yet to announce how this will impact the Lync APIs. Both for Lync online and on-prem.
I doubt there will be any changes with Lync Online APIs before the new Skype for Business will be rolled out.
If anyone at Microsoft with with more info is reading this, please do share.
Mit beste Grüße
Jacov
This would be great!
