Prevent "Edit Front Page Settings" Capability.

Hello!

I have created a system role that is used by our library enquiry staff to search through every course if neccessary, view hidden activities, and is without editing rights to any course. (This was a copy of the Manager role with editing capabilities prevented).

After all testing, the only capability I could not prevent is 'Front Page Settings'. (See Image Above).

So in theory, anyone assigned to this role could edit the Front Page Settings, which is a capability I would like to prevent.

Could any one assist me in this at all? I'm stumped!

Hi - go to 'Settings / Site Admininistration/ Front page / Front page roles"

Click on the role you have created and remove them from front page role

See how you go

Hi Geoff,

Thank you for responding - unfortunately I did think of this, but they were never assigned to a front page role (I checked again in case).

However, I did check capabilities for the role again and have now prevented them in capability moodle/course:update (update course settings). They can still update course settings for courses they are enrolled on, just not the front page.

Hooray!
