G'day

I have upgraded from 1.9 - 2.0 - 2.1 and now to 2.2

However I am having some problems which I just don't understand. For example when I go to the home page I get this message;

sql_length() not available anymore

More information about this error

This is the 'more information' link reads as follows:

Function isteacherinanycourse() was removed, please use capabilities instead!

An attempt to bring a Moodle 1.9 solution to v2.0 ending in failure. The function filtered Teachers at the front page and allowed them to view hidden news items. Obviously there is another solution, that is develop a new Role for some people. Base the new Role on Authenticated User and just give the Permissions required for what you want them to be able to do.

Could someone please help out this dummy before I get even balder than I am now?

I have tried ringing a couple of aussie companies to pay for help but no one seems willing to take my money smile

Wenn did this problem start: going from 1.9 to 2.0, from 2.0 to 2.1 or from 2.1 to 2.2?

What are the changes you've done in the role model of Moodle? In which version?

What is your host: external hosting or self hosted?

Operating system seem to be Linux/Unix. Which flavour/distribution?

How do you manage your server: cPanel? Shell? ...

What are the Apache/MySQL/PHP versions? (Seen this http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=171020 ?)

How did you upgrade? (You can post the links from docs.moodle.org.)

Did you make a backup at each stage? (That is the first step in any upgrade.)
