Is it the case that the grade displayed when editing is on is not the same grade that's displayed when editing is off, for those whose grade is displayed when editing's off (as indicated by your screencaptures)?
Coming up short of a good answer here except for a bug or if, by chance you happen to have another grade item in the course called, "MEG" (which always causes strange anomoalies).
