I'm no longer using moodle and do not want to recieve any more emails, but can't find the unenroll link for my profile.
please advise or just go ahead and delete my account.
so no one can help me with this?
Send a message to Helen Foster here on moodle or email helen @ moodle.org and she will be able to delete your account if you explain why.
Hi there,
Surely this isn't normal, is it? Seems to put a heavy burden on Helen.
In Moodle 1.9 it was very easy to to unenrol oneself from a "course" one had enrolled in: In the Administration block there was a link to click on.
Now I see that if a go to a forum on moodle.org I'm not already enrolled in, it's quite easy to enrol. Example :
And I can just as easily unenrol myself from Business Uses by clicking on settings because I see:
But I can't unerol myself from Using Moodle in the same way, only from each of the component forums.
It's not really transparent what is a "Course" and what is a "Forum".
Hope someone can clarify this.
Cheers,
Glenys
Thanks everyone for highlighting the problem of no longer being able to unenrol from courses on moodle.org. As I'm an admin on this site, I can of course do anything, and so don't notice these kind of problems!
It seems that the problem has arisen since moodle.org was upgraded from 1.9, when the 1.9 capability moodle/role:unassignself was replaced by the 2.0 capabilities enrol/manual:unenrolself and enrol/self:unenrolself. The moodle.org role of Moodler (student) now has both of these permissions (as explained in Enrolment FAQ).
Sean will most likely not read this post as I've manually unenrolled him, but for everyone else reading this, you should now be able to unenrol yourself from any course on moodle.org via a 'Unenrol me from this course' link in the settings block as explained by Glenys.
If anyone notices anything else odd on moodle.org, please do follow Mary's advice and contact me.
Glenys, I haven't explained why you could previously unenrol from Business Uses but not from Using Moodle. If you'd like to know why (it's rather complicated) please shout!
Thanks so much, Helen.
Now I can unenrol myself from Using Moodle - but I don't want to.
I enjoy myself here.
No need to explain the bug now it's fixed.
Cheers,
Glenys
