This is my approach for my students taking up the course:
I would like them to see a set of courses under their my courses list and when they complete the course, it shows as greyed out hence making the student know that they have completed it. Is there way to do this or any alternative method to find this out?

Hi - I don't know of any way to grey out a course once completed - if you use Moodle 2 then you can set up course completion conditions such that the student has a block which actually says "completed" -but that is inside the course; the course won't be greyed out However, they will know that they have finished the course.. I would imagine you would have to code this by setting conditions on the colour of the course - but I'm a teacher not a coder so maybe you could try another forum
