Challengs to teach in the Moodle

Hi all,

i´m looking for a survey ou informations about difficulties that teachers could face to teaching in the Moodle enviromment.

Any help will be apreciated.

It depends on the situation. If you are talking completely online, then there are some fairly standard issues that online teachers have (though there isn't very much online teacher training out there as far as I know):
  • Building trust
  • Setting clear expectations
  • Identifying students who have "checked out" and intervening in time

Some general advice is to have teachers start an online class with some social activities, make sure that the syllabus is clear to a new student (show it to someone who is like your typical student and let them edit it and ask questions), and hold regular live office hours (a chat room, skype) to touch base with students.

Talking a bit more about my question, I would like to say, I am a student in master's degree in education that research on difficulties that teachers encounter when using a virtual learning environment (like Moodle).

If someone can point me in the right direction I will greatly appreciate this help.
