I just started running Moodle on my server. As I created a forum, I notice that day of the week and AM/PM display turn into funny characters. These characters are Shift-JIS and gets funny on EUC display.

How can I adjust this. I appreciate your help. Thanx.

You will probably get a better response if you post your question on the Japanese language forum which is just for problems concerning the rendering of Japanese on Moodle. Click here: http://moodle.org/course/view.php?id=14

Thanks, Tom. There is indeed a thread and a solution to this problem. I'll try to see if it works with my server.

The problem has been solved by the following process:

1) adjusting the locale variable to Japanese_EUC

It was so simple, but I needed an hour of trial and error to reach this solution. Hope this info helps some others.
