Moodle 2.0 preview 4.

When TinyMCE HTML editor is disabled site-wide, when editing any text in any resource or activity, a drop-down list is displayed at the bottom of the text editor, with 4 options: HTML format / Moodle auto-format / Plain text format and Markdown format.

Except for HTML and Plain text I haven't the faintest clue what the 2 other formats stand for. Do they actually exist in Moodle?

The usage of the "Manage files used by editor" link is totally mysterious as well.

1) These text formats have been in Moodle for years smile They are very useful ways of writing text without the heavy HTML editor (and currently for iPads that's all we have!)

http://moodle.org/help.php?module=moodle&file=textformat.html

2) In 2.0 the "Manage files used by editor" is supposed to let you manage the files associated with that current text.

For example, say you edit some HTML using the editor, and add a bunch of images to it, and then later delete the images from the HTML. Those images are now sitting in the Moodle database connected to that text, but there is no way to "see" them or delete those files. I agree that generally no-one cares about such things, so this link should be very small and unobtrusive.
