In Administration > Language > Language settings the default language is English (en_us). However, when I upload a flat file of users the default setting for preferred language is English (en).
This is not a major issue, but I wonder if there is a way to have the default option in the preferred language drop-down list in uploading users to match the default language for the site?

While uploading users you can define this in the form for the uploaded users.
But I would suggest to add a ticket at the tracker that the default setting for uploaded users should be the same that is set as default language.
