Restricted Admin Role

Restricted Admin Role

Hi,

We need to set up a new role (ITS Admin) which will be able to view and change course settings without being enrolled in each course. This role must not have the capability to change the moodle site config.

This new role was created by duplicating the admin role and changed the following permissions:

moodle/site:doanything and moodle/site:config set to NOT SET
course:view set to ALLOW.

We achieved what was needed, ie users assigned to the ITS Admin role are allowed to change course settings of all courses but are not able to change the site configuration.

But now, users assigned to this new ITS admin role, are receiving an email each time a student submits as assignment. The Admin account does not receive these emails.

Is there a way so that users assigned to the ITS Admin role do not receive this an email each time an assignment is submitted?

Thanks

Dorian

Teachers are only alerted by email when a student adds or updates an assignment. This has to be enabled in the Assignment Settings - "Email alerts to Teachers?" a Yes/No response, set it to No if you want to cut all notifications.

However, normally only teachers who are able to grade a class' assignments should be receiving emails. So, for me, this suggests that there is a permissions issues and you may want to look at "Grade Assignment" and "View Assignment" permissions in the Role you have created.
