Dear Moodle translators,

It's been a year since moodle.org was given a new look, and with a new lang file moodle.org.php in CVS, we're finally ready for the internationalization of moodle.org! Apologies for the long delay.

To ensure moodle.org is available in your language, please help by translating moodle.org.php, which contains strings for all the top level pages and menus on moodle.org.

Once you've checked your translation into CVS and the language pack zip has been updated (within 24 hours of your check-in), please message me and I'll update the language pack on moodle.org. You will then be able to see moodle.org in your language!

If you come across any problems, or have any suggestions for improvement, please add a comment to MDLSITE-297.

Thanks to Martin for creating all the language strings initially, Ralf Krause for translating moodle.org into German already, and to everyone else who is able to help out. smile

Hi Helen,

The french translation is now committed into CVS. Expect the zip package to be updated tomorrow morning (IIRC, UTC time).

Can't wait to see moodle.org in french!

Thanks Nicolas, moodle.org is now available in French. Thanks also to Koen Roggemans for translating moodle.org into Dutch and to Alf Martin Johnsen for translating it into Norwegian. goedkeurend

Looking forward to moodle.org being available in lots more languages in 2010!

Hebrew version has been translated by me and OKed with Hebrew users forum on this site.

Could you are someone else help by uploading attached file to Hebrew lang folder (we don't have CVS access).

When working on the file I wondered where all that text was shown, there were a lot it that I have only seen in the moodle.org.php file. Just lately I recognized that the headers of the drop down menu were links to new pages just like the other menu items! It might not be the biggest problem in the world, but other people could as I miss a lot of information too not considering the menu headers to be links. Whats more funny is that I myself relatively often use titles on links (as in the menu headers) and acronyms. I have not though any idea of how to show that all items are links.

The error:
BTW there is an error in the first string, 'aboutdemosite'. It says that you can try the demosite as a teacher, student or even an administrator. I have seen that admin is taken away from public login, so this have to be corrected. I have 'tracked' it in MDLSITE-853.
