Hello,
I usually build my lessons in a Word template then import them in Moodle in GIFT or XML format.
I was wondering if there's a way to export a lesson from Moodle into a GIFT or XML file.
Thanks for your help,
D.BODIN
No, that's not possible.
Thank you very much for this quick answer.
Too bad not be able to export, save and/or modify outside of Moodle offline.
Thanks again,
D.BODIN

As Joseph said, it is not possible. But it is a good idea and one I could use!

Hello,
I don't know for other teachers, but in my work once the lesson is uploaded in Moodle, I'm often drived to make so minor changes in it (usually after some attemps of students I want to change some feedbacks, even some answers to stay close to the students' behaviour).
I report, one by one (copy/paste!) these changes in my Moodle Lesson in XML or Gift format in order to keep a record of the latest version of the lesson in a file.
When there're a lot of changes it would be very useful for me to be able to export the lesson in its current state in a XML and GIFT format.
Too bad that the operation does work in only one way (import),
Cordially,
D.BODIN

Exactly what I need to do as well. Documentation, documentation, documentation even via electronic files is still documentation. And we have people who want to see that audit trail of improvements.
Evidently the rest of the Moodle Community are enlightened folks who always live in the moment, and do not have our special requirements of needing to remember the past .
I am happy and tired. Looks like a 1.5.3 site will be "history" next week after the site administrator does the blessing and changes the ip.

You could try to make a new course, import your lesson in your new course and export the new course (where there is your lesson and nothing else).
It is not what you asked for, but could be a good way to save your work.
