Hi all. I'm in the process of writing a proposal for migrating our current Blackboard 7.3 to Moodle. I need to find the mid and optimal specs for running the Moodle Server on Windows Server 2003. Below are a few statistics of our current system to take into account:

  • Windows Server 2003 (AD and LDAP authentication for integrated login)
  • SQL Server 2005
  • approx 8,000 active blackboard user accounts
  • 100 daily max of concurrent bb user connections (has risen to over 200 on occassion)
  • 1071 registered courses (this may change through time)

Remember that I'm looking for mid and optimal hardware specs not just basic. Thanks in advance.

Hi

Did you read the Performance docs http://docs.moodle.org/en/Performance ?

and the Installation docs http://docs.moodle.org/en/Installing_Moodle ?

Related discussions in this forum, for example, http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=138760 ?

You can search the forum for keywords by entering them in the field top right.

Since you are running MS Windows, have a look at the Windows-based servers http://moodle.org/mod/forum/view.php?id=6799
