Hi,

I really wasn't sure which forum to post this to but I'll
try this one.Many times i have posted this same query
but never i got what i need.....

But still i'm trying.....

I have moodle installed using
Xampp-win32-1.7.1-installer with
moodle-1.9.5 standard package
and it is in server and i can access
from other systems in LAN.....

Now i want to copy this moodle
site (without upgrading ) to
another system (server)........

Give me simple steps as i'm new to moodle

Please don't give me Migration link i read but its not working for me ....

  • You do not worry. Your problem has solution.
  • It copies all the folder of Moodle in a USB of great capacity.
  • Later, paste it in C:\
  • It will be thus: C:\moodle
  • Other you know already it.

Hi thanks for you response...!

I have copied it to new server using pen drive and i changed

config.php file in htdocs...

and it is showing error ...... "Error: Database connection failed.

It is possible that the database is overloaded or otherwise

not running properly.

The site administrator should also check that the database

details have been correctly specified in config.php"


How to get ride of this please help me ..............

I hope you ll surly help me out in this ................

Did you backup and restore the database on the new server?

If you did, did you give the new database a username and password?

If you did, is this information correct in config.php? The database settings are highly likely to be different on the new server.

Please tell us why the Migration information doesn't work. Where is it going wrong or what don't you understand? Then we can help you and improve the documentation!!

I don't know how to take backup and restore
please give me a simple steps to do the same ........
and tell me how can i give the new database a
username and password?
and in config.php i had changed only ip
address to new server ip address..

Please help me as soon as possible.....
