It is not clear what your query is. If you are looking to find the student's assignment submissions you can view these via the 'View xx submitted assignments' link top-right of the assignment page (when viewing as a marking teacher).
Another way of finding out which students have submitted and which have not (apart from viewing the assignment submissions as explained above) is to view the Participation Report for that activity.

Thanks for your reply Teresa..
I mean custom report, for a time period...
We can see the the submitted assignments for a day now. i would like there we can specify a time period, like within the date etc

I'm not aware of any way to select two dates however the Participation Report allows you to choose the last x days/weeks/months and you can sort the student submissions table by clicking the 'Last modified student' header.
The data is all logged by Moodle so if you know a little programming you could create a query.
