In the Lesson module, if you use the Short answer question type with the Use Regular Expressions option checked, then the catch-all expression is ".*" (dot + asterisk), not just "*" (asterisk on its own) as in the Quiz module. Please read the online Help and look at the examples provided for that question type to understand how it works.
