Forum Emails not Being Sent - Moodle 1.9.5+

Since I upgraded our Moodle installation to 1.9.5+ the forum emails, which were sent out regularly and reliably before are no longer being reliably sent out.

There have been no other changes to the system, cron is running as before every 5 minutes. I've restarted both crond and sendmail to no avail.

Even if I run cron.php manually no forum emails appear to have been sent (looking at /var/log/maillog!)

This is fairly mission critical so I'd appreciate some feedback PLEASE!

Yes you're right - forum postings without URL's are being sent out normally.

Correction, whereas forum postings not containing URL's were being sent out this morning by this evening they aren't being sent out either!

Strange because cron.php seems to be running normally.

Clive, it seems you're not the only person to be reporting forum emails without links not being sent - see moodle 1.9.5 : participants can't receive emails from Forum.

As I mentioned in the other discussion, in order for developers to investigate and fix the problem, it needs to be reported in the Moodle tracker together with any details which you think might be relevant.

Hi Clive,

not 100% sure if this is your problem, but it seems that one recent regression was found and fixed related with mailouts and PHP4 (MDL-19266 in the Tracker).

Luckly, it has been fixed and will be available in next weekly build (27th May 2009) or right now straight from CVS.
