Hello,

I installed 1.9.5 version last week.

The messages posted in Forums are not sent automatically to Forums participants …

If I do it manually :

www.mydomain.com/moodle/admin/cron.php, it works !

But not if I try to do it automatically :

- I forced every participant to be subscribed,

- In the cron area (hosting company), I typed the command :

wget -q –O /dev/null http://www.mydomain.com/moodle/admin/cron.php

(every 30 minutes)

I contacted my hosting company, which adviced me that one :

wget -O - -q -t 1 http://www.mydomain.com/moodle/admin/cron.php

Anyone has an idea ??

Hi Alain,

Do the forum posts contain links? If so, this sounds like MDL-19266 which has just been fixed, thanks to François Marier. approve The fix will be available in the next 1.9.5+ weekly build on Wednesday 27th May 2009.

This has been posted in Moodle Tracker MDL-19630 in late June and I wondered how we could get an update on progress with it as it is causing a major issue on a few of our active sites and we need to decide how we should progress this.

It looks to me like everyone is missing the point of the original post, which specifically said that it works if cron.php is invoked manually, but not automatically. So it seems to be, not a forum module or email problem, but a scheduling problem. For some reason, cron.php is not running on a scheduled basis. Because it works if you run cron.php by hand. It might be nice to know if any other cron functions work on a scheduled basis. Is there a cron log?
