Recently ran across this problem:
Warning: Unknown(): open(/home/goved/public_html/constcode/uploaddata/sessions/sess_b3f67c4b71b6225964c3c968edb0bc7a, O_RDWR) failed: Permission denied (13) in Unknown on line 0
Warning: Unknown(): Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (/home/goved/public_html/constcode/uploaddata/sessions) in Unknown on line 0
Now I checked the forums and found a couple of instances of this and similar problems. I did check my file premissons and everything is good -> chmod 777.
Would re-installing FrontPage extension cause this? I need help, since the site is going live in 48 hours!
Thanks!
Ralph

I hope you made it in 48. I recently have installed Moodle for the 10th time and for the most recent 4 times I have checked (after same !Error! !Caution! message you received.
There was no sessions & no cache directories/files under [dir.] uploaddata, at all;
in each of these tries. I am hoping someone can send me the files or show me where to get them without downloading unzippng from a library browser (flood in Memphis / $800 library fine for papier machet(e) and no computer for awhile).
I am learning to do thngs with Telnet/SSH and UNIX/ shell accounts. Computing
via public applet Telnet + IE browser in Windows NT.
Fantastico install, if you know Fantastico, it does a lot of things well, and not so
much on others. I know that it could be a server / install-O-rama bad inter-
something.
I really want to -try this my way-; I think I only need the sessions and cache directory and files under uploaddata directory (for 1.4.1).

Just downloaded and uploaded with Telnet/SSH as:
unzip -u <---[ I just learned this one; you extract only what is missing,
or what is obsolete with -u (I know you know, I'm helping others... it's what I do... )] and the usual rest of it and
THEN
command: chmod to 777 (but not on 'moodle' [which directory is now there but empty, (before both true not there and** empty), rather dir:
upploaddata {to 777}]) ... and it IT WORKS LIKE MY OLD 1978/9 JAGUAR XJ6L did with Thomas Dolby on the 4 channel stereo doing, "One of our Submarines is Missing" Thank you - Ghostbusters "[I'm ready to believe you..."] I'm learning things and I like it! Now to fix my head from wall banging it, Harvey, sorry: W Page Yes!
