Auto-linking can be found in Administration > Modules > Filters > Manage filters.

I know the feeling 
Glad to help.
Recently I have started to use the admin bookmarks block a bit to help me with some of the more often used pages. But even so, some not so frequently used options I find hard to remember where exactly they are. Clearly, I haven't been using Moodle long enough...
