Multiple Grades

Multiple Grades

This is driving me nuts but it must be possible. I want to assign multiple (four in fact!) grades to one offline assignment. Essentially, this would be an offline module assignment with only grading on Moodle.

Scenario is:

Module Name - Offline Assignment - graded for Attention, Independent Learning, Group Participation, Quality of Presentation.

Multiply by about 25 other modules and repeat - all in one course.

In other words the ONLY thing this particular course would be used for would be for grading.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi Jim,
Do you run 1.8 or 1.9?
Moodle does not offer real numeric rubrics at this point of time (I really wish they would exist).
In 1.8 you will either need to add 4 offline assignments to track 4 grades, or have one and provide an explanation in the feedback area on how exactly the final grade for the assignment was calculated.

In 1.9 you may add columns directly to the gradebook, but you still will not have an option to give 4 numeric grades for one assignment.
You can try to play with scales and outcomes. Scales should be included in the aggregation for the whole installation by an admin. Then an instructor should
- create a scale to be used later
- set up 4 outcomes with that scale
- create an offline assignment and apply all 4 outcomes to it

Take a look at this documentation:
