Yes, this is
unfortunately a drawback of Multiple-Choice questions with Multiple-Answers, that I have previously tried to get changed. There are some links at the bottom of threads that I started almost two years ago:
There are only two work arounds that I can come up with:
(1) Assign a -100% grade to each wrong answer. This way, they will get zero marks for the question, even if they only get one wrong answer.
(2) Split the grade assignment evenly between correct answers and incorrect answers.
Example #1: If you have a question with say 3 correct answers and say 4 incorrect answers, each correct answer would have a grade of +33.333%, and each incorrect answer would have a grade of -25%.
Example #2: A questions with 2 correct answers and 3 incorrect answers would have correct answer grades at 50%, and incorrect answer grades at -33.333%.
FORMULA:
100% divided by number of correct answers = grade for each correct answer.
-100% divided by number of incorrect answers = grade for each incorrect answer.
