We're using moodle 1.9.2 to help our newly hired people come up to speed with our company. This is a competitive group of people and we give them points for accomplishing various tasks. So far we've been able to track their performance through assignments and such, but the first item we have them perform is an entry in the course forum where they introduce themselves.
How can we get the performance of this activity to show up in the gradebook? We've tried setting the ID number and linking that in but it doesn't work. We've also tried creating an entry under "Courses and Items" but it doesn't seem to link to the form.

I just deleted the old forum and recreated it and now the category shows up and I'm able to track it. Huh!?
