As part of some cleaning up for Moodle 2.0, Workshop has been moved to contrib in Moodle 2.0. See Activity module cleanup in HEAD.

Fear not! The plan is to replace it before the release of Moodle 2.0 with a module that does the same thing but better.

(Possibly based on Peerlight but this is under review)

Peer and Self-Assessment Integral to 21st Century Teaching

by Vernellia Randall -

I am very glad to hear that workshop is going to taken care of - peer and self assessment is a very integral part of active teaching pedadogy.  My question is there way to make that a choice that is integrated accross most if not all activities rather than isolated to a module.

On an another note, could both specimen assessment form and the teachers example be something that can be hidden until a specified time.

Thanks for workshop - I choose moodle because of the availability of the peer and self-assessment component.

Re: Workshop has been moved to contrib in Moodle 2.0

I'm a comp. sci. major who has to do a project involving the workshop module for a course I'm taking this semester (actually a group). I've read a lot of the documentation and forum posts regarding workshop. The interface is nightmare-ish to say the least. And I haven't even looked at the code, but I've prepared myself for the worst.

So I've read about this transition to Peerlight, but in the meantime, has there been any work done on the module to improve the interface and possibly the rubrics? I saw that there is an Assignment module add-on which allows for reusable rubrics. I think that would be a good thing to incorporate into the workshop, the rubrics pertain to the course, not necessarily just the assignment. That way the rubrics are reusable and modifiable.

I don't want to start hacking away at the 1.9 code if some of this stuff has already been worked on for 2.0.

I applied for CVS access, but haven't heard back yet. Where should I start?
