Youtube_Page_background

PoodLL Widget / Generico
Maintained by Vernon Spain
This is a Generico filter to add a YouTube video as a BACKGROUND to a Moodle Course. It allows a user to easily add the video and simple details to the course without blocking out the exiting resources.

Youtube_Page_background version-1_4.17.17

Moodle 3.1, 3.2
Released: Monday, 17 April 2017, 8:16 AM

This is a bundle for the Generico filter to add a youtube video background to your course

To install download the zip file and expand it. It contains a folder called Youtube_Page_Backgrounds. Inside the folder is the template bundle, Youtube_Page_Background.txt. Drag that file over the green bundle button on a blank Generico template settings page. The fields on the page should fill out. After you save the page, the template will be available from the Generico icon on the Atto html editor.

This filter works best on the Essential theme but can be easily modified to suit other themes. I have included a selection of css fixes for various themes. Please let me know if yours is not there.

A list of the themes that it works on is included as the Youtube_Page_background_themelist.csv

Default installation instructions for plugins of the type PoodLL Widget / Generico

The import and export of a template takes place on a template’s settings page. These can be found under the filter’s settings in the site administration->plugins->filters->[filtername] area.

The template file you download from here is a ZIP file (.zip) and you must first expand it to get the template file (.txt) that you use to import.

Importing a template

On each template settings page on the top right, there is a green box with the word “bundle” inside it. To restore a template from a file, you need to drag the .txt file over the green bundle button of a template settings page. The border of the button will turn blue. If you then “drop” the text file, it will fill in all the fields of the settings page. You need to save the settings page after that.
