WirisQuizzes local plugin implements a thin wrapper for all WirisQuizzes question types. WirisQuizzes plugin declares all the necessary dependencies for WirisQuizzes question types.

WirisQuizzes improves the following Moodle question types: True/False, Multiple choice, Matching, Short-answer, Essay and Embedded answers (Cloze). You can create sophisticated and random math questions with very little effort.

On the side of the student, they will be able to introduce his answers by using a WYSIWYG formula editor. The answer syntax check will prevent the students from making unnecessary errors and misspellings.

All mathematical items are generated in a single calculation section, and they can be referenced from anywhere in the content, question wording, answer, feedback for the student, etc.

WIRIS tools can be used for free up to a certain level of use per natural year. Please read the WirisQuizzes subscription conditions and prices.

Thanks guys. Great example of an umbrella wrapper plugin that is supposed to pull-in other ones. The only thing to consider is adding an SVG version of the icon to be used by the modern browsers. This can be easily approved once all the dependencies are cleared, too.

    Hi David.

We will add a SVG version of the icon in our February release.

    Thanks,

So, I finally managed to test and review all the submitted question types from this set. Firstly, big thanks for your patience with the approval review that took really long this time.

Secondly, and more importantly. As a former maths teacher I am happy to say - well done on these WIRIS plugins. With them, a suite of powerful tools comes to the Moodle world and I am sure this will make many moodlers happy. It is obvious that such complex plugins like these are will have certain requirements, for example the need for the Java support in the browser. It is not a problem, as long as these things will be clearly communicated with the users in this Plugins directory (by clear explanation in the plugins descriptions).

I like your tutorial-like documentation pages for particular question types on your site and they helped me a lot during the testing. I was thinking that at least part of those pages could actually be copied over here to the plugins' description fields to give even better examples of how powerful your plugins are.

With regards to the code itself, I like that the WIRIS question types make use of the class inheritance and re-use as much of the original types as possible. There are some non-blocking formal issues that would be nice to have fixed, such as compliance with the Moodle coding style. Some potential users of your plugins may take all these little issues into account when evaluating your plugins.

Issues detected during the code review were reported to your bug trackers and were promptly replied to from your side. Thanks for that. None of them is a real blocker and I am sure that you will same promptly address all eventual issues raised by other users from the Moodle community. So I am happy to go and approve the submitted plugins here now.

You are cleared to land, welcome to the plugins directory!

    Hi David,

We are very glad you like WIRIS Quizzes.

Thank you very much for your extensive feedback! It has been very helpful for us. Feedback like yours greatly improves our code.

In the next days we will update the documentation including the tutorial for each question type and the requirements specially the Java support in the browser.

Regarding Java browser support: during this year we will migrate our interface from Java to Javascript. You can test our new interface here: https://calcme.com/a

    Best regards,

    Manuel

I cannot seem to get the WIRIS plugins to work on Moodle Mobile app. I keep getting "...questions not supported by the app".
Am I missing a setting to enable these plugins for mobile?
    Thanks for any help

@Carl Miller Unfortunately, since Moodle Mobile is not very popular among our customers yet, integrating our tools into Moodle Mobile is not currently on our roadmap.

Good day everyone, i have installed Wiris Quizzes on our moodle 3.9 server. When students submit their answers on a quiz, sometimes errors will appear on their screen. Well, only for a few students not all of them. Can anyone suggest ways on how to deal with this problem?

    Thank you in advance!

    Here are some error messages:

uncaught exception: Call to a member function release() on bool
    in file: /usr/home/sonreme/moodle/question/type/wq/classes/moodleprovider.class.php line 56

    and some other lines...

Or am I missing something in settings?

I currently upgraded to Moodle 4.0.3 and experienced an issue when adding Quiz Questions from quiz or from Question Bank where everytime I create a new question, I am directed to error page "You must select a question type". I found out that this is related to Wiris Quizzes question types, because after I disable this plugin, I encounter no more issues. Please kindly advise on this.

@Ey Marieb Thank you for notifying the issue. We identified an unexpected behavior when selecting WirisQuizzes question types in Moodle 4.0.2 and later versions, and our development team solved it immediately.

The fix has been included in the next version of the tool, WirisQuizzes 4.5.2, to be deployed this week.

Do not hesitate to contact our Technical Support Team at support@wiris.com if you need further assistance.

Hi, we upgraded to Moodle 4.1.2 and noticed that Wiris Cloze questions no longer shows a feedbackspan element when the cursor hover an answer.
In previous versions a feeback saying "Mark 1.0 out of 1.0" was shown when the quiz was configured as "Interactive with multiple tries".
Is this a dropped feature or a bug in current version or in our site?
