Overview

This is a clone of the Moodle weekly course format except the weeks are listed in reverse order.

Settings

  • Settings from standard weekly format
  • Hide future weeks (yes/no - default: yes): allow to hide all future weeks from the student view so that the current week is shown at the top of the list. When enable it will completely override the course setting "Hidden sections" for future weeks. As a teacher you can see future weeks and should leave them unhidden so that they do become visible when that week arrives.

Installation

Install the plugin, like any other plugin.
See http://docs.moodle.org/en/Installing_plugins for details on installing Moodle plugins.

Hi Silvia. You would need to become a new maintainer of the plugin. As there is no maintainer of this plugin currently, it would be great if you could start looking after it. Sure both the code and this plugin record here needs some love. Please let me know.

Is there a 3.1 update? I would love to use this plugin! Or did someone make a similar plugin for 3.x moodle perhaps?

Thanks David. New version released Somrient
It add Moodle versions 3.3 and higher support and put the "hide future weeks" behaviour as a configurable course setting.

As reported by Leonardo Freitas da Silva Pereira (Thanks again !!) I forgot to update version number in 3.2.0 release.
I just release a new "3.2.0" with an updated version number.

This plugin has been very useful. It seems, though, that it assumes 7 days for a week. I had a teacher set the start date of her course to a Monday. The weekly headers formatted correctly, however the reverse course layout thought the previous week was current. I had to set the start date of the course one day earlier to a Sunday in order for the actual current week to be highlighted as current. Any thoughts?

Hi Bryce, Thanks for your feedback. Indeed it is "just" format_topics but reversed so it is 7 days weeks.
I'll try to reproduce your bug as soon as I'll have free time. In the meantime if you have more informations (or a fix) do not hesitate to fill an issue (or a pull request) on the bug tracker.

Hi just wondering if there are any plans to update this for Moodle 4.X? We have several teachers using this and would like to use it for 4.x

    Hi Beth,

Thanks for your interest in this plugin. I already have opened https://github.com/ak4t0sh/moodle-format_weeksrev/issues/5 concerning Moodle 4.x compatibilty.
Unfortunately I do not have time to work on it currently but if another developer send a pull request I would be happy to review and merge it.
