Onetopic format

Course formats ::: format_onetopic
Course format that allows showing each topic in a tab, keeping the current tab between calls to resources, in such a way that when it returns from a module as the blog or the glossary it returns to tab from where you started. This format is based on the Moodle standard format: “Topics”.

    Hi @Dipo...

You can use the option "Maximum number of sections" in the "Course default settings" (In Site Administration > Courses).

    Hi David,

On my production site I use one_topic 4.1.0.5 , on the test site 4.1.0.3

The problem that happens in production, and not in testing:

In testing the access restriction is visible in the section, but in production it is not seen:

The only difference is the one_topic version.

Does it make sense to you?

    How can I solve it?

    Thank you very much!

    Saludos,
    Andrés

Hi David, would it be possible for you to advise when this plugin will be available for 4.2? Thanks

This plugin is apparently broken in the new 4.4 version of Moodle. The button to edit the section text content disappeared; it became impossible to edit the topics text. The batch edition of resources also does not work in my installation. But I see that the native "Custom sections" course format with one section per page is similar to One Topic, except that the top navigation bar is missing (and it will be missed by users).

I also prefer Onetopic. There's nothing like it. You can only edit the the 0 section. I hope David will update the course format for 4.4.

Hi Jaime and Nellie, I've posted a quick fix for the edit section button issue at the source control site. It's #178 Quick patch for Moodle 4.4. I assume the batch edition of resources you're talking about is the bulk edit tools feature, and I've posted a fix for that too. #149 Support bulk edit tools. (Although it looks like the Onetopic code has changed a bit since I posted that one, but I think the new template code can still go near the end of the template file, just before the close of the div.) If your Moodle host is willing to apply those patches manually, then I think those features might work for you on Moodle 4.4.

Thank you, James, where can I find the patches?

You can get to them from the section Useful links on this page, Source control URL, then click the Pull requests tab. The URL's https://github.com/davidherney/moodle-format_onetopic/pulls .

It sounds like you’re describing the Onetopic course format for Moodle. This format enhances the standard “Topics” format by displaying each topic within its own tab. It maintains the active tab state, so when a user navigates away to resources like a blog or glossary and then returns, they are brought back to the same tab they started from. https://www.mycoveredcalifornia.com

Hola! Sugerencias?

    Gracias!
