Moodle in English -> LTI and Moodle -> Can LTI pass over time-zone information?

As we know, Moodle lets students set thier time zone in their user profile.

And, for a number of other learning tools, which you might want to link to using LTI, it would be helpful for the tool to know the users time-zone?

Is there a way for LTI to pass this information over? I have not been able to find one. Thanks.

Your observation is correct. At the moment, there is no way to make this work automatically. You have to do it manually.

This was previously reported as MDL-80965, and Luca fixed it with a bit of help from me. The fix will be in the next Moodle release, near the start of October.
