Aspell [http://docs.moodle.org/en/Special:Search?search=aspell] is already available and I am not aware of any plans to add a spell checker. I think that browser-based solutions like IEspell and Firefox's native spell checker are pretty popular among Moodlers, though.

There are a couple of places you can look to find out what is planned, by the way:

• There is an official Roadmap at http://docs.moodle.org/en/Roadmap. It is frequently updated.
• There is also an issue tracker at http://tracker.moodle.org. It is a searchable database of feature requests and bug reports.

Just a couple of good resources new Moodlers might want to bookmark.

Word documents and PDF files should open for you, so we should be able to sort this out together. Let's see...

In a typical scenario, you would upload the documents to your files area and would then create a resource linking to them. (See screen attached capture.) Is that how you did it?

Also, it might be helpful to know what error message you saw when you tried to open the files.
