Investigation --> Genralization --> Application: That sounds like a great approach, John. I appreciate your sharing that. I could see using that approach in my high school German classes.

If I understand correctly:
* Investigation: Students gather information and resources about education in Germany.
* Generalization: Students create graphic organizers showing the similarities and differences between vocational and academic education in Germany.
* Students create a plan of study for one young person who wanted to become a mechanic and another who wanted to become an attorney.

Or is that example not quite right?

I have not used the Q & A forum format much. I am glad to know that it worked well for you. Maybe I should give to a try this year.

I wonder how one would apply the Investigation --> Genralization --> Application approach to the "Appointment in Samarra" example... Any takers?
