Costly dependency: The City of Zurich wants to free itself from US tech firms

The city is increasingly feeling its dependence on Microsoft also finanacially. And the political pressure to withdraw is growing. Zurich needs an urgent "Plan B," says an IT and law expert.

Zurich's annual spending on Microsoft licenses has quadrupled since 2019 to 28.4 million Swiss francs.

Politicians are demanding alternatives due to data privacy concerns stemming from the US Cloud Act.

Just amazing: Anything come in the way of humanity is either good for them or they bend it to their needs or morph themselves to fit the purpose - if not today, then tomorrow. That explains the resilience of the human being. I wish, I could be that optimistic.

"running moodle on 1 server right now" means all but one server of the web server is in the cluster, but its network mounted filesystem the same NFS?

"server tries to reach h5p files on the server. But the IP adress it's trying to reach is the IP adress of the loadbalancer" is interesting. So there is a complication in the network side too?

That is exactly what I said:
Before you ask, what Moodle Bench tells: It is a positive test: If the test is positive (answers shaded red) then the server is bad. No serious Moodle server should show red, not even orange, answers.

The opposite, a "green" result does not necessarily mean a great server. Think of it as measuring the body temperature. If it shows a running fewer, you are obviously not healthy. But no fever does not necessarily mean that you are healthy!

Dist writing speed more than seven times the accepted limit? Then you can add hundred more web servers to the cluster and bring the whole thing to a stall!
