Well, I admit not having first-hand experience with WIMP.

From the problems posted in the technical forums (eng. and german) the majority of Moodle sites run on Apache - which also reflects the situateion worldwide.

In the thread I've mentioned was this comment too:

OK, there are others who have no problems with WIMP or WAMP. (BTW replacing the MySQL with MS-SQL seems to be harder.)

My point is, the choice of the plattform is not only technical, you have to take financial and political aspects into account.

Even on purely technical basis, we don't have fair comparisons of Moddle on LAMP vs. WAMP, nor WAMP vs. WIMP.

Financially, MS asks for licence fees whereas LAMP is free. The counter point is that, the "switch over" also costs money in terms of training. The discussion is an involved one -YMMV.

Politically, well that goes off-topic

An welcher Stelle? Du hast geschrieben "nach 13 Tabellen", stürtzt es ab immer an der gleichen Stelle? Welche Tabellen hat die Datenbank nachher (alle Tabellen werden vorgängig "gedropped" nehme ich an)?

Nur eine These: Hat PHPMyAdmin Mühe mit sehr grossen Skripten? Versuche den Skript in Teilen zuzerlegen.

Ich benutze PHPMyAdmin selten. Wie ich in Erinnerung habe, gegeriert PHPMyAdmin einen SQL-Skript mit "create table ..." und "insert into ...".

Lokal gehst Du auf den seleben Weg nehme ich an. An welcher Stelle des Skripts kommt die Fehlermeldung? Wie heisst die Meldung genau?

Don't let the favicon thing distract you. Most of the browsers look for it to display a tiny icon next to the URL (like the "m with a hat" you see on moodle.org).

Wenn you get the "blank screen" view page source within the browser (Ctrl-U in Mozilla).

Also you can configure PHP to send all the error messages to the browser.

Von Deinen Angaben kann ich kein die Situation nicht nachvollziehen. Hier ist einige Hintergrundinfo:

- E-Mail absenden ist eine ganz andere Aufgabe als ein Webserver. Dazu brauch Moodle Abhilfe.

- Üblich sind zwei Wege:
- auf der selben Maschine läuft ein Mailserver. Dann sagst Du moodle, dass er Mails an "localhost" abgeben kann.

- auf Moodle-Maschine läuft kein Mailserver aber Dein Provider stellt einen Mailserver zur Verfügung. In diesem Fall gibst Du dessen DNS-Namen (wie smtp.myprovider.de) an.

Übrigens, es ist wichtig zu wissen was Dein Plattform ist - Linux (Distri?), Windows (welche?), OS X, ...

Im Fall von Unixer siehst Du genau was los ist mit
ps uax | grep mail # ob ein Mailserver läuft
tail -f /var/log/maillog # was die Fehlermeldungen sind

P.S. Das MS Word Dokument hab ich nicht aufgemacht. Word ist halt kein Datenaustauschformat

Generell in Server-Wartung Bilder nützen nicht viel. Das Wichtige steht als _Text_.
