Paul, it's me again. I believe that you are factually correct. The friction we are experiencing is that those facts are too hard for the seasoned community here, especially those from the shared hosting space (which is the subject of this thread). Or, to put it differently, WiseCat's tip of the day. is hard to digest. Or, if I may put it in a politically unwise form, the Generals overestimate(d) the officers at the front (compare the breastplates).

Hi Paul

Howard will talk for himself. I understand his "that would fundamentally not be in the spirit of an open source LMS" refers to what James said, specifically if "Installation and upgrades will require significant Linux System Administration skills or the help of an IT professional. Moodle.org offers a paid Moodle platform with restrictions on student numbers and functionality as an alternative" part is true. That sounds like the open-source Moodle is a bait.

> WHAT!?!? (262183 questions)

Simple. That is what you have! That count never lies. You haven't looked in to the question banks at every level. If you don't believe me, there is an admin report in Moodle 4.5 LTS called Question instances.

I know, because in Summer we thought we're out of the woods after killing 2 million duplicate questions to realize that we can't duplicate quizzes, that only when the Fall semester started. Just the last week the patient was in the OP, and we're keeping our thumbs crossed, today the classes started after the Fall vacation.

Tim, it is nice that you ask. But I would never demonstrate how I broke a leg even in the world nr. 1 hospital, rather limp home with the still good one.
