Bonjour Jeremy,

Bon courage !

Glenys

Hi JaapJan,

I think what you need to do is use QuizPort. This allows you to group Hot Potatoes exercises into a Unit and only have one link on the Moodle course page for as many exercises as you wish. Each QuizPort has just one grade in the grade book.

Here's an example: English for Beginners. Behind each green "tick" are 10 to 20 exercises.

Cheers,

Glenys

Hi Jaapjan,

I think it's not possible to get rid of the OK button (it's what sends the score to Gradebook) but it is possible to hide the score until the end of the exercise as here:

It's even possible to replace the popup feedback box by something more descrete and the exercise will still be still scored

As you can see the "Guest User" has been doing pretty well.

If you send me an email (it's in my profile) I'll send you the modfied source files.

Cheers,

Glenys

Hi JJ,

Why are you using Scorm to deliver Hot Potatoes? Maybe you haven't realised the Hot Potaoes Quiz is a core Activity in Moodle 1.9 - but it does have to be activated by the Admin: Site Administration > Modules > Activities > Manage activities and click on the Hot Potaoes Quiz "eye".

I'm very much on the same wavelength as you about letting students have as many attempts as they wish without penalties. Hot Potatoes is not quite perfect for that but it is pretty good. You should be able to turn off "Show score after each correct answer" without preventing the score being sent to the gradebook. I don't think I've had any problems. I have had to "hack" the source files in some cases to make the scoring invisible. I can send you all my modified source files privately if you're interested. They do include notes to myself in the form of a word document which explains what each is intended to do and how but I can't guarantee they'll make sense to someone else.

Cheers,

Glenys
