Eddie,

You're right, at one point in the past it was suggested that Questionnaire and Feedback would we merged into one module only, or that only one of the two would survive, incorporating as much as possible of the other's distinct features.

More recently, Martin D. has suggested that only the Feedback plugin should make it to standard distribution and Andreas has started work to make Feedback even more compliant with current versions of Moodle. However, it seems that Andreas has momentarily stopped working on Feedback (but I may be wrong). At the moment, neither of these two modules is part of Moodle distribution (not even in the forthcoming 2.0 version) and - despite my request - it is very unlikely that Questionnaire will ever be part of the standard distribution, according to Martin D.

You can read the whole story in CONTRIB-56.

This is what I can say about the Questionnaire plugin.

  • It offers many different question types with many options.
  • It has a "required answer" option for each question and each "required question" is checked for responses.
  • It can be set to "anonymous respondent".
  • Responses can be saved as CSV for easy transfer to Excel.
  • The questionnaire/questions creating interface is not very user-friendly, but online help is very detailed.
  • Questionnaire does not support the "roles" introduced in Moodle 1.7. It only recognized the legacy roles: teacher and student.
  • It is no longer maintained for Moodle 1.6 versions, so I would not recommend installing it before you move to 1.8.
  • It is actively maintained (by Mike Churchward and myself).

Howard > We have several sites, for some in the users profile pages we get a drop down list of GMT-13 to GMT+13. In others we get a list of countries, I cannot understand why there is a difference.

On those sites where a list of countries is available, the site admin must have done:
Administration Location Update timezone. (whereas the Update timezone operation has not been done on the other sites which do not display countries but GMT-13 to GMT+13 only). Is that the case?
