Thanks Tim,

Unfortunately all the questions in that labspace test deal with topics which are totally foreign to my field of knowledge, namely maths and physics. It would be nice to be able to test the labspace with more "ordinary", everyday life topics.

e.g. What is the name of the Queen of the UK; match European coutries and capitals, etc.big grin

Consider the following (simplified) scenario. Using Moodle 2.0. Quiz in Adaptive mode.

  1. Quiz has one SHORT ANSWER question with 2 possible answers.
    1. Answer #1, completely correct, score 100%.
    2. Answer #2, partially correct, score 80%.
  2. Student takes quiz, submits Answer #2.
  3. Student gets the following puzzling feedback:
    Partially correct
Marks for this submission: 0.80/1.00. This submission attracted a penalty of 0.10.
  4. Student submits all and finishes.
  5. Review shows final grade as 80% or 8/10.

My contention is that the "This submission attracted a penalty of 0.10." is misleading, since that penalty was never applied. The "penalty" message is displayed one move too soon...

Hi Elena,

Thanks for your explanation. Since Matt did not mention he was using the weekly format (which I never ever use), and did not mention he had collapsed the topics view (which I never ever do), I was totally lost!

Anyway, I set a course to Weekly format and collapsed the topics and everything looks fine in my dropdown list, using Moodle 2.0.2+ (Build: 20110223).

Joseph
