ahhhhhh

thanx Makalo but this is a password for the quiz and not for each user.
I am an indian and before u can say 'cheat' the whole school will know this password as well as their cousins in USA and nigeria...ha.ha

u see, i was earlier using a simple cgi-script which had this option that whenever anyone wants to take a quiz, he gotta login again with a password and user-id........

but anyway.....making the course un-enrollable does the trick.
thanks for ur effort and interest

Moodle in English -> Quiz and question banks -> Restricting the quizzes

von Dr S Bhatia -
Hello
I am test running moodle in order to shift from atutor to moodle.
I have several courses and each course has its own quiz. We allow only one attempt per quiz and we charge money for it.

I use manual authentication for students i.e. i myself add a student to one particular course, then i send him his user-id and password by email.

THE PROBLEM:
the problem is , once a student enters the site(usind userid and p/w given by me), he is able to enroll himself in ANY other course too and take its test/quiz. (enrollment key idea is primitive. all the students will pass the key to each other befor you can whiff out your breath)
So how to ensure that when a student, enrolled by me into one particular course, should not be able to access ANY other course's quiz?

(p.s. sorry if this question appears redundant to advance users but i have spent only about 36 hrs exploring moodle)

any help will be appreciated
