I am no moodle guru but i also do the same thing. I am facing backup probs on my site.

What you do is simply take a backup on ur website.
download the zip folder.

Keep it at a loc of ur choice on the server where u wanna restore it.
Then go thru restore procedure mentioning the address of the uploaded file from which to restore.

In fact there is a lot of discussion on this...i just cant remember where...if i'll find it i'll send a pm

Moodle in English -> Lounge -> Blackboard Patents -> selfish moodle user

por Dr S Bhatia -
hi

i am a selfish moodle user
i am planning a website based on moodle somewhere in sept2006
will this patent for blackboard mean that i am running an illegal site?
will my hosting service disallow me?

can someone guide me?

p.s.(i always thought moodle was too good to be true....if this patent bans me from using moodle, my worst fears would come true)

hi
i am anew user and just want to know if it is alright to do the following:-

i have installed moodle with apache etc on my PC (stand alone). AND
I have installed moodle on my website too.

now i want to work on my pc moodle to create courses etc, test run them  and THEN transfer them to my website's moodle installation. what would be the best way to do this?
i thought that i must backup the courses on my PC and then restore them on the moodle of the website?
