you must have three quizzes....named attempt 1, attempt 2, attempt 3
each quiz should allow only one attempt
set adaptive to 'no'
set grades of attempt 1 to 10
attempt 2 to 8
attempt 3 to 5 (or whatever)

another option is to allow them to tick on more than one answer at the same time.
for e.g
rabbit is a...{
~%-50%plant
~%50%animal
~%-50%bacteria
~%-50%virus
~%50%mammal}

let the students know there may be one or more than one right answers.
in the above example, they must tick BOTH animal and mammal to get 100%
a wrong combination will lead to penalties and over attempt may even lead to negative marks
that should be a good idea
Allow them to see feedbacks and responses at the end of the attempt
allow only one attempt
this will teach them as well as test them
what say?
an inherent problem would be seen if what you want is encoded

if the student clicks on an option, it'll be considered answered and the window will display the next question. this takes away the privilege of the student to click on one answer, rethink, change it and then click on 'submit' or next etc.
Don't forget that people have different skills of mouse control and sometimes my own laptop pad behaves erratically and i click on the wrong option and then correct it. This feature may not be very desirable. It seems you want to avoid students putting two clicks to answer a single question.

regarding your second query, a customisable feedback after the quiz is over was requested by me too, and Tim Hunt says it'll be there in 1.7 version

Moodle in English -> Comparisons and advocacy -> convincing people for moodle

by Dr S Bhatia -
In my country, web based education like through moodle is practically unheard of. I am the pioneer who is trying to promote it.
I wish to go to schools and give them a short 30-40 min demo (in flash or powerpoint)which can convey the immense power of moodle in an explicit yet lucid manner which should also be attractive enough to convince people about its usability.
I am sure people must have made such demands in past and i was wondering if anyone is aware of such a presentation lying around somewhere.
I'll be thankful for the help

you may use fora.....you may use messages.....clients can ask in various ways. even wiki.
but why did u mention excel table....if u could ask a more specific Q.....
anyway....run 'exceleverywhere' or 'spreadsheet converter'  in google and check that software that google spits out on top www.spreadsheetconverter.com ...it may be the answer to ur excel table blues.

Moodle in English -> Quiz -> Importing Quizzes -> Re: Importing Quizzes

the appropriate format would be:

What is a primary source?{
~tomato ketchup
=an original piece of evidence
~a cheeky yound child
~a horse less than one year old}

upload the format i have typed in red as a text file ( and upload in gift format and it'll work like charm.
i am attaching a file for your convenience too. this willl tell u the right formats...it's a moodle doc only....not my creation. though your format should also work coz i have seen it work in some other quiz models though not in moodle , but the one above works flawlessly. don't forget the closing '}' mark.
