i THINK this is a server speed kind of problematic issue and for past 15-20 days have been thinking of filing a bug about it.

actually after you have been logged in for 5-7 minutes, go to your profile again and LO! you'll find your posts but if you do this IMMEDIATELY after login, it says NO POSTS.

This behaviour does not occur on my moodle site
but occurs at moodle.org

Hope people notice.

Lets say this: blog in moodle is a Bonus facility.
Moodle has a few dozen other important reasons to be used and blogging may not make it to the top 10 list. So i guess this point is moot. I actually dont understand why is moodle and elgg being compared. they serve somewhat different purposes though purportedly, it's education, in the broad sense

mac is something i have never touched. Sorry.
Questions appear to be in order.
php is server side language, sort of equivalent of asp created for IIS
MAMP should mean MacOs, Apache, Mysql, Php but am not sure.
Just that php 5.0.0 has some compatibility issues with moodle. Thats why i asked

you are another of those who require this. Welcome to the club.
TIM HUNT says this kind of feature is desirable but not being planned in near future.
What i have done is simply created 7 quizzes for seven categories and then created a lesson in which the student will manually fill his grades for all seven categories and the lesson will show his complete report by feedback method.
suits me as of now.

But if you do develop a code, do keep me posted coz i am no good at development.
