Thanks for telling us about this interesting and powerful event. At CABWEB we host online student and staff collaborations. Two of these that may interest you are:
HELP - (public) a community of practice for educators in HE
JILID - (private) which describes itself as "The aim of this community is building a global network of people who are interested in the research and collaboration on intercultural aspects of learning and the design of educational media."

Do contact me if you think we can reinforce each other's efforts? I am a great believer in networks of networks.
As a co-author , I am hardly likely to claim that this paper http://ifets.ieee.org/russian/depository/v8_i4/html/1.html is classical but it is about e-learning and OPen Source (in this case our use of Moodle at CABWEB) and it is already in Russian!
You should include a link not upload the paper.

The first reference that I give to students researching in this area is more of a book than a paper.  Look for the Guidelines on CSALT page.

Moodle in English -> Forum -> Problem with Discussion forum

by Frances Bell -
(Have searched forums and couldn't find a related message)
A new user to CABWEB HELP is having problems with posting messages, she says "I just tried to add a paragraph and it cut it off at the first full stop...????? No images - 100 or 200 words would be the max I've tried to post."
The forum max upload is 1Mb.
This is not a problem we have experienced before.
Her comment  suggests that she is cutting and pasting the para.
Any ideas on what might be the problem?

I'd be very grateful as we are just starting a very interesting discussion on LAMS, and we don't want the facilitator to be restricted to one para wink

Moodle in English -> Lounge -> LAMS Discussion at CABWEB

by Frances Bell -

Have you heard of LAMS? It has been attracting a lot of attention in the last 2 years.

Robyn Phillips from LAMS (Learning Activity Management Systems) Foundation http://lamsfoundation.org/    will be facilitating a discussion on LAMS from 29 May-9 June.

Why not join us?

Content will include

1. What LAMS? Why do we need it?

2. How are people using it in higher education?

3. What are the results?

4. What are potential areas for research?

You can check out much of CABWEB as a guest but to stay in touch with the discussion by email or make a post, you should self-register on CABWEB  at http://www.cabweb.net  (see instructions for First Time Users if its not obvious).  NOTE! This discussion is likely to be very popular so I suggest you set the daily digest option in your user profile.

Follow the link to the HELP network from CABWEB front page and look out for NEW! forum in topic 1.  Remember to subscribe to this forum by clicking subscribe option if you want to get email reminders of postings. The forum is open on 29 May but in the mean time, you can contribute to the social forum and read the powerpoint slide show that Robyn has provided.
