Moodle in English -> General help -> Search Engine Optimisation

by Frances Bell -
I know that there has been a discussion on how to keep Google out of your site, but I wanted to ask about how get our Moodle front page "up the list" in Google and other search engines.  I wondered if there are any tips .
Should we be using important keywords in particular parts of the configuration and /or content, e.g. site description?  I have done some experiments on searching with Google and I have not worked out makes us come up or down the list for different word combinations.
BTW, our site is http://www.cabweb.net .
I have answered some questions recently in response to N Hansen's prompt so I hope that some good answers will come back my way thoughtful

Moodle in English -> Lounge -> Call for Partners

by Frances Bell -
We are coming to the end of a two year Socrates-Minerva project that has resulted in http://www.cabweb.net
and have been applying funding to continue the work.  Our latest proposal will be for the EU Socrates-Minerva call in a few weeks time.  The first stage is a pre-proposal that is not an onerous task but the improtant thing is to get the partnership right. We already have some partners, including an excellent Moodle Partner,  but seek more and so offer the attached Call for Partners.  These are likely to be HE institutions in (or soon to be in ) European Union.
Other colleagues are welcome as members of CABWEB (we are more flexible than EU wink ).

Moodle in English -> General help -> Problem with RSS

by Frances Bell -
On our CABWEB project http://www.cabweb.net, one of thepartners is having difficulty using RSS feeds from fields such as
http://www.cabweb.net/portal/rss/file.php?file=/1/70/forum/2/rss.xml

Because the file has <p> not closed.  We are on v1.4.5
Can anyone help?  We would like to have RSS feeds used on our web site.
Apologies if this has already been answered. I could not find it.
