That can't be ALL you did.... did you configure the cache mappings on the MUC page? You mention sessions a lot. Have you pointed session storage at Redis in config.php.

I think there's something relevant you are not telling us.

I'm not really following all this stuff about resource limits. Moodle pushes its cache very hard. If Redis does not have the resources then, yes, you're going to have all sorts of problems.

Just for completeness - what did you do in Moodle to enable Redis? Was this for the MUC or for sessions (or both)?

 

Have you got some means to monitor Redis - are keys being stored?

I'm not sure... but doesn't this involve an optional plugin?

If you look at the individual tickets in that epic there isn't (as far as I can see) anything to stop Moodle working with PHP 8.4. All those issues have been fixed. The only remaining items that are preventing it being closed are "nice to haves" and the like.

Or php-fpm isn't running cron at all (in most installations that would be the case)
