Are we *really* talking about themes? While you can do an awful lot with a theme (given time and resources) it only goes so far. Moodle has a certain fundamental look and feel that won't go away.

Are you talking about the theme or the UI or both or something else? Do you really mean 'admin' or more the 'teaching' interface?
Evidently, lots of people are struggling by with it.
Some of Moodle is just plain old but it's generally catching up. I'd be interested to hear what and how you think should be improved.

Inside Moodle... Site admin > Server > PHP Info. Produces the same page as above but check the php.ini locations in the top section. Most installations now split php.ini into multiple files, so your 'find' probably doesn't cut it.

I didn't mean permanently . Please switch to Boost just to eliminate your theme as the problem.
If you don't unenrol them (and there really isn't any need) from the course then the recompletion plugin is exactly what you need.
