You haven't posted in the wrong forum. I just meant that the actual subject text didn't really express your problem (that you really need the bug fixed).

We've upgraded PHP and this is the first I've heard of this bug so I suspect it may not affect that many sites. Of course, this does you no good at all. I can only hope more users see this and vote for the bug (as I have done) AND that results in a bit more urgency.

If you want to do "something" adding a Redis cache server is a very good idea. Caching requirements increase with every release and you may have just tipped over.

Otherwise, you are going to have to do some monitoring. What's happening during those 18 seconds?

That's the main GET request. It's not that. If you look at the network tab, you'll have a big list of requests. The one you want will be either at or very near the end and will have 'service-something'. Like this...

It usually means that an error message has been returned where Moodle is expecting valid JSON.

It's a better idea to look at the Network tab in developer tools and find the interraction that caused this. The response field should give you the (readable) error.
