I would just add that overriding capabilities AT ALL is not something to be done lightly. The problem is that it's not immediately obvious. The person that did it forgets or moves on and it becomes a massive nightmare for the person who has to sort the "weird problem".

....but wouldn't the Permissions page (above) show that the capability was NOT allowed if it was some other role "interfering"? That's kind of the point of that screen.

Given that I've just written something with over 50 AJAX web services.... do we have any idea when the "old" system might get deprecated?

On a side note... "Dependency Injection and Facades" gives me the fear. I keep hoping OOP will go away ກະພິບຕາ

What do the task logs (for the failed tasks) show? You might have to run with Debugging on for a while to get something sensible. I seem to remember that debugging is forced on for tasks when the number of retries gets to a certain point.
